Festivity of "La Virgen del Rosario" in Salobreña

The Salobreña romería (the Spanish traditional word for pilgrimage) in honour of the Virgen del Rosario takes place on the first sunday of October. This is the most important celebration in the village and it starts at Juan Pablo 1st Square and finishes at El Peñón Beach. The Virgin goes together with floats decorated with Andalusian style details made by people of Salobreña, who dress with traditional flamenco dresses and suits on this celebration day. During the Romería you can enjoy music, concerts, competitions and a mass at the beach promenade. You'll be able to understand the andalusian culture if you go and take part in this important day, when Salobreña shows its most beautiful side.
