What are the Spanish menus?
Published:
Dear guest, when you travel to a country as beautiful as Spain, apart from the comfort during your stay, you also think about where to eat and what each place offers you.
There are certain places that offer the famous menú that you have surely heard of. These menus are not only famous for the price (quite cheap, depending on the area they range from € 10 to € 20), but also for the amount of food you can eat and what is included. Below I will explain what the menus consist of (in general) and what is included in those cheap prices.
In general and I am talking about the Andalusian region, the menus consist of two main dishes, dessert, drink and bread:
- The first course usually includes hot meals in liquid form. For example: seafood soup, lentils, gazpacho (usually during the summer)...
- The second course usually includes meat or fish. For example: pork, salmon, anchovies, veal ... all this usually accompanied by potatoes or vegetables.
- Dessert: this section includes coffee and different types of dessert such as cakes (cheese, chocolate ...) and custard.
- Drink: the first drink is usually included in almost all establishments. From the second drink you order, you have to pay for it separately from the menu.
- Bread: it is usually included in the price of the menu.
